Creating a Fixed asset

Go to fixed assets  -> Common -> Fixed assets -> click on create new fixed asset button it will show the next window

1. Fixed asset group, here you have to select the fixed asset group of the new fixed asset
2. Number, depending on the configuration that you made before the number will be manually or the system will give you an automatically number when you select the asset group
3. Name, set a name for your new fixed asset
4. Type here you have to select one of the available options
5. Set a unit cost.

NOTE: There are many information fields like Technical information, Insurance, Location and structure, this fields are not mandatory to create a new fixed asset but the more information possible It’s better

With only this information the new fixed asset it’s already created, but this new fixed asset is not on the Ledger, you must to make am acquisition journal.

If you go to fixed assets  -> Common -> Fixed assets à Value models button, you will see the information about depreciation

You can see that the new fixed asset is “not yet acquired” that means that you can’t make a depreciation for this fixed asset and in this window you can see the service life, depreciation periods, depreciation remaining and posting profile.

Click on Inquiry -> Balances and you will see this window with financial information and you will see everything on zero

Fixed asset acquisition

Go to fixed assets  ->Journals -> Fixed asset -> Create a new journal (this is the header of the journal)

Click on lines button

Date, Select the day for the acquisition transaction

Transaction type, select Acquisition

Account, here you have to select the fixed asset that you make before

Description Free text field

Debit set the acquisition price

Offset account type select one account type

Offset account, select the offset account

Click on validate button

Click on post button

If you go to fixed assets  -. Common -> Fixed assets -> Value models button

The status change automatically to open

Click on Inquiry à Balances and you will see this window with financial information and you will see the values

And now the fixed asset it’s already creates on ledger
